NEW YORK — Marianne Flippo, the wealthy widow of a computer programmer associated with the development of key software for the popular online game Roblox, is suing male escort Gregg Starr, alleging that he manipulated her into transferring nearly $6 million to him. According to a lawsuit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court, Flippo, 49, met Starr, 38, through Cowboys 4 Angels after the death of her husband, Chad Flippo, in August 2024. The lawsuit says Chad and Marianne had been together since their teenage years and were married for 28 years, raising three children. Court filings allege that Marianne initially hired Starr as a companion for a trip to Italy, where she needed to obtain medication. The two later continued their relationship, and the lawsuit claims Starr eventually moved into her New York apartment. Flippo alleges that she also paid more than $450,000 to keep Starr exclusive. The lawsuit centers on an alleged $10 million “Exit Agreement” that Flippo says she was pressured to sign during a trip to Atlanta while she was taking medication following surgery. She alleges that Starr and another escort-service employee supplied her with alcohol and pressured her into agreeing to pay the amount so Starr could leave his contract with the agency. Flippo says a bank initially recalled a $10 million transfer over fraud concerns. She later alleges that she transferred approximately $5.95 million into a joint account with Starr. Her attorney, Larry Hutcher, later questioned the agreement and became involved in efforts to recover the money. Court filings allege that Starr subsequently moved millions of dollars from the joint account. Starr disputes Flippo’s allegations. He told the New York Post that much of the money was spent on shared expenses and charitable donations and said approximately $3 million remained. He also denied allegations of coercion, saying the agreement was Flippo’s idea. Starr’s attorney, Todd Spodek, said the evidence would provide a different account of the relationship. The lawsuit remains a legal dispute, and the allegations against Starr have not been established in court.
