Angel Micquel Patterson and Kimyetta Aaliy Melton Murder-Suicide Greenville, South Carolina: In Loving Memory Of Angel Micquel Patterson and Kimyetta Aaliy Melton

GREENVILLE, South Carolina — Two families are now carrying the pain of an unimaginable loss after Angel Micquel Patterson, 26, and Kimyetta Aaliy Melton, 23, were found dead Monday at a Greenville townhome.

The discovery was made at a residence on Briargate Place after family members became concerned and went to check on the women. Greenville County Coroner Mike Ellis identified both women and confirmed that they lived at the townhome where their bodies were found.

Coroner Ellis said Patterson died from a gunshot wound, and her death was ruled a suicide. Melton suffered multiple gunshot wounds, and her death was ruled a homicide. Based on the circumstances, Ellis classified the deaths as a murder-suicide.

Angel, 26, and Kimyetta, 23, were both at ages when there should have been many more years ahead of them. Their deaths have instead left loved ones facing the painful reality of saying goodbye and trying to make sense of a devastating tragedy.

For those who knew them, memories now become especially precious. Family and friends will remember the moments shared with Angel and Kimyetta and the places they held in the lives of others. Though their final moments were marked by tragedy, their lives cannot be defined solely by how they ended.
