May 29, 2002 – September 15, 2025 One year after the tragic passing of Kaden Simpson, his family continues to remember a beloved son whose life was cut short at just 23 years old. September 15, 2026, marks 365 days since Kaden’s life was taken. His father shared a deeply personal tribute, reflecting on the memories they made together and the pain of facing each day without his son. One of the memories he holds closest is their final Friday together. They ate at Cancun restaurant before meeting at Buc-ee’s and talking about going for a ride. They ultimately decided not to go together. As his father headed home, Kaden told him, “Dad, I’m right behind you.” Kaden never came home that night. His father remembers the phone call that followed as the moment that changed their lives forever. Despite the grief, he remains grateful for the opportunity they had to share that final meal and time together. Kaden loved riding motorcycles, and his father continues to keep his KTM prominently displayed in the garage as a lasting reminder of his son. He speaks to Kaden out loud, holding onto the memories of his laughter, his love of riding and the person he was. The anniversary has brought back difficult questions and memories. His father continues to mourn while finding strength in his family, including Kaden’s mother and grandchildren. He also shared his belief that the circumstances surrounding the motorcycle crash should be examined and that road users must understand and follow traffic signs and safety rules. Those statements reflect his personal views about what happened. A year later, the grief remains deeply present, but so does the love Kaden’s family carries for him. His father has vowed to continue speaking his son’s name and keeping his memory alive. One year in heaven, Son. I love you.
