Amber Wiggins Accident, Cocke County, TN Death – Family Mourns After UTV Crash

A 26-year-old Oklahoma woman, Amber Wiggins, was killed and another passenger was injured after a utility terrain vehicle (UTV) crashed down a mountainside in Cocke County, Tennessee.

According to a preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the deadly crash happened at approximately 4:30 p.m. Friday, September 11, on Grassy Fork Road. Wiggins was driving a 2025 Can-Am Defender southbound on the mountain road while traveling down from Snowbird Mountain with two passengers inside the vehicle.

Troopers said the UTV traveled off the right side of the roadway and began rolling down the steep mountainside. During the crash, the Can-Am rolled over and struck a tree before coming to an uncontrolled final rest.

Wiggins, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead following the crash. Her death has left her family and loved ones mourning a devastating loss.

One of the passengers, 29-year-old Kayla Wiggins, also of Oklahoma, was injured. According to the preliminary report, Kayla was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Her current condition was not released.

The second passenger, 54-year-old Patricia Wiggins of Oklahoma, was wearing a seat belt and was not reported injured.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is investigating the crash and will finalize its official crash reconstruction report. Authorities said no criminal charges are being filed in connection with the fatal accident.

The incident highlights the dangers that can arise on steep and winding mountain roads, particularly when off-road vehicles leave the roadway and descend uncontrolled terrain.
