Ashton Kepler Obituary, Newark, NY Accident Death – Family and Canal View Mourn Beloved 17-Year-Old

With heavy hearts, family, friends and the Canal View community are mourning the unexpected passing of 17-year-old Ashton Kepler following a motorcycle crash in the Town of Arcadia, Wayne County, New York.

Ashton had been a member of the Canal View kitchen staff for several years. Those who worked alongside him remembered his unforgettable smile, sense of humor and the happiness he brought into the kitchen. To his coworkers, Ashton was much more than an employee. He had grown up within the walls of Canal View and had become part of the workplace family.

Following his unexpected death, Canal View announced that it would remain closed for the day so employees could stay together, support one another and begin processing the devastating loss. The business also asked the community to keep Ashton’s mother, family, friends and the entire Canal View family in their thoughts and prayers.

The crash occurred at approximately 12:25 a.m. Sunday on Wood Lane in Arcadia. According to the New York State Police information provided, Ashton was riding a motorcycle westbound when it left the roadway and entered a ditch. He was later found in the tree line near the motorcycle.

Emergency responders provided lifesaving care at the scene before Ashton was transported to Newark-Wayne Community Hospital. Despite medical efforts, he was later pronounced deceased.

At only 17, Ashton’s life was tragically cut short. His family, friends and coworkers are now left with memories of his laughter, kindness, smile and personality, while facing the pain of saying goodbye far too soon.

Canal View described its staff as a family grieving one of their own. The community has been asked to respect Ashton’s family’s privacy while offering them support during this incredibly painful time.
