Dominic Anthony Starkenberg Ferrari, born March 21, 2009, died on September 12, 2026, after a car accident that claimed the lives of multiple young people. His passing has left his family and friends devastated as they struggle to come to terms with a loss his mother described as every parent’s worst nightmare. According to his mother’s heartbreaking tribute, she became concerned when Dominic did not return home and his location showed him far from where he was expected to be. After calls and messages went unanswered, she and her husband decided to search for him. While driving along Balfour Road toward his location, they saw emergency lights and rushed toward the scene. His mother recalled desperately asking whether her son was okay before an officer delivered the devastating news. The family then faced the heartbreaking task of telling Dominic’s 13-year-old sister that her brother had died. “Our lives will never be the same,” his mother wrote, describing the overwhelming grief that followed. Dominic was remembered as his mother’s beloved “buddy” from the beginning. She cherished his sense of humor, his goofy personality and his love of dressing up in costumes. She recalled that he arrived three weeks early, just three days before her 25th birthday, becoming a treasured birthday gift and a central part of her life. While mourning Dominic, his family is also grieving for another family who lost their son in the same accident and for the family whose son remains hospitalized. The family expressed gratitude to the friends, relatives, parents and community members who offered support during the difficult aftermath of the crash. Dominic’s mother has also invited those who knew him to share happy memories of him, saying that hearing those stories would help bring comfort during an unbearable time. Dominic’s family now faces life without the young man who brought humor, love and countless memories into their lives. His memory will remain with those who knew and loved him.
