Gavin Wong Missing, Manhattan, NY – NYPD Seeks Help Finding Vulnerable Adult

Authorities and members of New York City’s Department of Correction community are seeking help locating Captain Gavin Wong, who has been reported missing in Manhattan. Wong, 45, was last seen on September 11, 2026, near 102nd Street and Second Avenue, close to his vehicle.

According to information shared by family members and colleagues, Wong is considered a vulnerable adult and has a cognitive impairment that may cause him to become confused or disoriented. A separate notice from the correctional community states that Wong is currently assigned to RNDC and has been battling brain cancer.

The reports have prompted an urgent effort among family, colleagues, friends, and members of the New York City Department of Correction community to help locate him and bring him home safely. The CCA said it has notified the NYPD and activated its CARE Unit and member support channels as efforts continue to find Wong.
