Kevin McNaughton Obituary, Perth, ON Death – RMC Hockey Alumni Mourn Inspirational Leader

The RMC Hockey Alumni community is mourning the sudden passing of Kevin “Mac” McNaughton, a beloved former player, captain and longtime supporter of the Royal Military College hockey program. McNaughton, an RMC 1995 graduate, leaves behind a lasting connection to the program and the many people who knew him through hockey.

Kevin wore the Red and White of the RMC Redmen, as the team was known at the time, for four seasons from 1991-92 through 1994-95. During his playing career, he recorded nine points and nine assists while accumulating 66 penalty minutes. Although injuries meant he may have spent significant time in the trainer’s room, his determination and leadership remained evident throughout his time with the team.

That leadership was recognized when Kevin was selected as captain of the Reddies during his fourth year. His commitment to his teammates and the program helped establish the reputation of an inspirational leader whose influence extended beyond his statistics on the ice.

Kevin remained an avid supporter of the RMC Hockey Alumni Association and the RMC Hockey program long after his playing days ended. His connection to the program became even more personal when his son, Brock, followed in his footsteps and played hockey at RMC.

In a remarkable family connection, Brock finished his RMC career with the exact same number of career points as his father and also had the honor of serving as team captain. Kevin was a proud supporter of Brock and continued to be a fixture at RMC Hockey Alumni activities.

The RMC Hockey Alumni community is now remembering Kevin as an inspirational man whose passion for the program and support for fellow alumni left a meaningful legacy.

His sudden passing has brought deep sadness to his family, friends, former teammates and the wider RMC hockey community in Perth and beyond. The alumni association extends its condolences to everyone who knew and loved Kevin.
